Emotion Free Trading

A big part of being a successful trader is keeping your emotions out of the trade. As a special treat to our readers we asked Larry Levin to share a video on the subject.

Larry reveals techniques for traders like you to help you control your emotions and transform you into a disciplined, emotion-free trader. It is the most important concept you can learn in order to be a successful trader.

If you can master this skill, you can be very successful in this business. If we can't control the market and what it will do, then the only thing that will make us successful is if we can control ourselves. And that's easier said than done. But it is the reality of successful trading.

This sales pitch pops up every now and then on here, there is no distinguishing whatsoever by the contributor between emotion, and learning to use one's gut instinct and intuition which many of the best through history used with great success.

I don't care what you say, as long as you have money on the line emotions will rear their ugly head to some degree.
Whether it is fear or greed one of them is gonna play hide and seek with ya.

I agree with WmA. The only thing I hate more than a losing trade, is to exit too soon and leave a percent or two on the table. Timed it right, waited patiently, then failed to get the max return- greed at its ugliest. Emotions definitely come into play- that's why we have those recognizable patterns (double and triple tops, bull and bear pennants, exhaustion gaps, etc...)
