Disaster Averted, Fast Forward To January 15th

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Thursday, the 17th of October.

Late last night the United States averted what would've been a disaster for the country. But did we really avert disaster, or did they just "kick the can down the road"? I had the good fortune to appear on CNBC Asia last night when this historic vote was cast. If you missed my appearance, you can see what I said right here.

While Washington politicians are patting themselves on the back and thinking about what a good job they did, most folks in the real world have a different view and are incredibly angry at what Washington is doing. It really doesn't matter if you are on the left or the right of the political spectrum, the divisiveness in the country is not healthy for the economy and the stock market in the long run. Is Google losing its mojo?

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Wednesday, the 16th of October.

Tomorrow, Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) announces its long awaited earnings and I thought I'd take a look at this stock today before tomorrow's big announcement.

There are some interesting developments in Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) that have largely gone unreported. I will be using our Trade Triangle technology to point out these discrepancies to our viewers.

Of course, the Democrats and Republicans clawing at each other as they try to beat the deadline on the 17th is the big unknown for the market. My best guess is that there will be a deal that no one likes and the politicians will agree to "kick the can down the road" until next year.

Please feel free to leave a comment and share your thoughts on the markets or if you dare, Washington politicians.

Have a great trading day,

Are we headed for a financial Armageddon? I don't think so

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Monday, the 14th of October.

It's day 14 of the government shutdown and it's certainly getting down to crunch time where someone is going to have to blink. I think both parties know how angry the populace is with their childish behavior. In my opinion, the National Park Service should be fired for what they did with the open air monuments.

Last week's market didn't close badly with the expectation that we would have a resolution in place this past weekend. That was not to be case and the major indices are lower this morning.

UPDATE: Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) flashes a major buy signal. [Read more...]

WTF - It's not what you think

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Friday, the 11th of October.

I first learned about the real meaning of WTF while I was a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, back when I was trading in the pits, standing shoulder to shoulder with some of the smartest traders in the world.

It was back when the movie Star Wars was all the rage and George Lucas was at the height of his very successful, creative career. The iconic line from the movie that struck a cord with everyone was, "May the force be with you."

How that quote made it into the trading pits of Chicago will always be a mystery to me. The members of the exchange took WTF, a slang term, and translated that to stand for "What's The Force?", loosely interpreted to mean, is the force up or down for the market? This term was especially common on Fridays when traders had to decide whether they were going to hold or fold their positions over the weekend.

So I say to you this Friday, WTF? [Read more...]

Is The Market Correction Over?

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Thursday, the 10th of October.

Yes, I believe that the current correction has come to an end with yesterday's market action. Markets are heavily oversold at this point and I expect to see a relief rally starting today.

Several of our MarketClub members stated that they expect to see some sort of agreement out of Washington in the next few days. I happen to agree with their thoughts and if that happens, it could instantly repair the downside pressure on the markets.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is looking more and more interesting, particularly if it closes today over the $491.10 level. Should this happen, it will have created a mini base in which to propel Apple to my "line-in-the-sand" level at $497. Apple could go into overdrive if this level is broken on the upside any time this week. [Read more...]

Is It Time To Buy Gold?

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for the last day of the month and quarter, Wednesday the 2nd of September.

The NASDAQ Is On Fire!
There's no doubt about it, the NASDAQ is and has been the strongest index out of the three indices we track. The NASDAQ index is being driven by the likes of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA), Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN), Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) and many other internet and tech stocks.

Is this trend likely to continue? I believe it will continue and I am looking for higher levels in all of these markets, providing that our Trade Triangle technology is in agreement.

Government Shutdown Imminent - Here's My Take

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for the last day of the month and quarter, Monday the 30th of September.

It's hard to know where to begin, so let's begin at the beginning. I think we should throw all the Republicans and Democrats out of office - they are absolutely not helping America move forward and get back on its feet again.

What is happening now in Washington is a childish squabble between two completely different ideologies without any grown ups in the room.

I believe that both parties have lost sight of the big picture, and that's making America strong economically. That means creating jobs, putting people back to work and to live within our means. If we can't afford it, we can't afford it - end of story.

These simple concepts seem to be beyond the grasp of the two parties and the last thing on either parties mind. It's all about, whats in it for me, and I want to keep my position of power and job come h@ll or high water. [Read more...]

Is The Market Slide Over?

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Tuesday, the 24th of September.

The four day slide in the DOW (INDEX:DJI) pulled this index back to a perfect 30.2% Fibonacci retracement, where the market found support. With our long and intermediate term Trade Triangles in a positive mode, I am looking for this and the other market indices to resume their upward trend. The headwinds are of course, funding of the federal government, tapering, Syria and Muslim extremism. Any of those events could spook the markets in the month of October.

Today, President Obama is speaking at the United Nations (now there is a misnomer). I'm not sure what that's going to do, as the UN has been a largely ineffective organization since its inception on 24th of October, 1945. The U.S., thanks to your tax dollars, funds 22% of the UN, China 5.15%, and Russia 2.5%.

Gold continues to struggle and the question is, is gold close to a major bottom? I will be examining gold, plus reporting on the following stocks in today's video report.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL)
Facebook (NASDAQ:FB)
Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX)
Pandora Media (NYSE:P)
Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)

If you would like to leave a comment on anything I have discussed in today's video, we would love to get your feedback.

Apple Unleashes The New iPhones Today

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Friday, the 20th of September.

Today, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) began to officially sell its new iPhones, the 5S and 5C, around the world. Long lines were reported in Europe, Asia and here in the States as Apple loyalists lined up to buy the latest and greatest from Apple.

Is Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) going to sell as many of the new iPhones as it has in the past? I think so, many iPhone users myself included, did not upgrade to the iPhone 5 last time. I will be upgrading this time and trading in my 4S for a brand new, fingerprint ready 5S. I think many other Apple users will be doing the same thing in this new product update cycle.

On Wednesday, like many other iPhone users, I downloaded the new IOS7 operating system for the iPhone and iPad. I have to say the new interface is clean, pretty slick, beautifully designed and works like a charm. The good news for everyone is that Apple made this upgrade free of charge. [Read more...]

Bernanke Blinks And Addiction Goes On

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Thursday, the 19th of September.

I have been saying for some time that the Fed is not going to do anything until January 2014, when there will be a change in the chairmanship. It goes back to that fundamental human trait of "wanting everyone to like me." I think Ben Bernanke wants to be seen as a benevolent Fed chairman when he retires in 2014. This is classic Washington politics, where the Fed chairman gives a very gracious speech saying that it's been a challenge and he enjoyed his time as chairman of the Fed, but he'll leave out the part where it's not his problem now.

Whoever becomes the next Fed chairperson will face monumental challenges trying to extricate the country out of this spending binge and gluttony of cheap money. I suspect that had the Fed known they would be no further forward in 2014 when they took this quantitative easing course four years ago, they would have chosen another course of action to stimulate the economy.

Here is a quick question for you, how many zeros are in $1 trillion? [Read more...]
