Daily Video Update: This week could set the tone of the markets for the year!

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, co-founder of MarketClub with your mid-day market update for Tuesday, the 10th of July.

Score one for Spain. However, this short-term Spanish victory did not get Spain or Europe off the hook by a long shot. There's still much to be done and somewhere along the line someone has to bite the bullet.

China also appears to be slowing down dramatically and that could further exacerbate the contagion effect, not just for China but the entire world economy. This week could mark the most important week for the stock market. We are not convinced that the German courts or the public will okay the current new bailout fund. Daily Video Update: Thursday was a disaster for the bulls

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, co-founder of MarketClub with your mid-day market update for Friday, the 22nd of June.

Make no mistake about it, Thursday was a disaster for the bulls in the equity markets. Watching crude oil fall below $80 a barrel and seeing gold crashing down, it was difficult to see what was going to keep stocks higher for the day. Yesterday's stock crash was a huge blow to the bullish case for stocks. As you know, our long-term monthly Trade Triangle has stayed negative on the equity markets and remains negative. We are now lower for the week in the S&P 500, the DOW and the NASDAQ. A flat to mediocre close today will be indicative of more pressure on the equity markets next week.

Gold is flat for the year and shows no indication of turning around anytime soon. Crude oil is also down on the year and is not closing well on the weekly charts. Continue reading "Daily Video Update: Thursday was a disaster for the bulls"

Daily Video Update: Is it my imagination or did the Greeks just kick the can down the road again?

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, co-founder of MarketClub with your mid-day market update for Monday, the 18th of June.

While the eyes of the world were glued to the Greek elections, another election took place halfway across the world in Egypt. The outcome of that election could have far greater consequences to Western society than a little country in southern Europe.

I am, of course, talking about the potential for war between the Muslims and the Jews over Israel. This would not be a good thing for anyone. At no time in my career have I seen so many conflicting elements around the world, all of which portend to big changes in the markets. Daily Video Update: Political uncertainty creates choppy markets and investor frustration

What, if anything, has changed? The European problem is still around and hasn't gone away. The US is up to its eyeballs in debt and US companies don't want to bring their money back into the US because of high taxes and political uncertainty. And if that was not enough, we have a Greek election on the 17th. What's an investor to do?
