About Sammann
Derek Sammann was announced as the CME's new Managing Director of Foreign Exchange Products in September of 2006. Since then, this CME executive, with over 15 years of experience, has been responsible for building global FX growth by expanding the company's customer base to ensure that both self-directed traders and large institutions are trading the CME's FX products. Sammann will augment the CME's current options offerings to further strengthen the company's FX division.
Prior to joining the CME Group, Sammann graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Political Science. He began his professional career as the Associate Vice-President and Head CME FX Options Floor Trader for Cooper, Neff & Associates in Chicago. He then gained employment with Credit Agricole Indosuez in London where he served as Senior Vice-President and Chief Dealer in FX Options. When Sammann moved to Calyon Corporate & Investment Bank he was responsible for expanding and extending product revenues. He was later offered the position at the CME Group which he accepted in 2006.
Sammann continues to expand the CME Group's product offerings through intense communication and research with clients both big and small. As FX is the fastest growing market, Sammann looks to keep up with that growth by magnifying the customer base through alternatives based on an variety of products.
