Cocoa Futures-- Cocoa futures in New York rallied  for the 2nd consecutive trading session settling in the July contract at 2257 trading above its 20 day moving average and now also above its 100 day moving average with excellent chart structure and in my opinion if you look at cocoa on the daily chart it has a nice grinding stair step pattern to the upside with a possible double bottom created at 2046 which was hit on 3 – 7 – 13 with the next major resistance at 2300 and if that is broken and I do believe there is a good possibility of prices hitting 2450 in the next 1-2 weeks while a bull market might be underway in cocoa prices. Livestock Futures--- Livestock futures are under pressure today with live cattle in the April contract down another 230 points today trading at 125.70 a pound hitting a fresh 11month low trading far below its 20 and 100 day moving average and now looking to retest support at 125 which was hit on 4/27/12 and in my opinion will break those lows and possibly head down to 120 a pound. Feeder cattle prices have been plummeting in recent weeks down another 220 points in the May contract at 141.00 a pound continuing its bear market hitting a 1 year low as traders are thinking prices are still historically too high. Lean hog futures for the June contract are down 130 points 89.25 trading lower also hitting an 9 month low now looking at support around the 86-88 level with traders selling livestock futures in recent weeks and in my opinion I do believe prices are headed lower but remember to place a stop loss in case the trend turns around trying to minimize your risk because there is extreme volatility. Grain Futures--- The grain market continues its bearish momentum this week with wheat trading below its 20 and 100 day moving average settling last Friday at 7.19 a bushel hitting 8 month lows this week and at one point actually cracked $7 a bushel currently trading right around 7.13 up slightly this Friday afternoon and as I’ve stated in many previous blogs I am extremely bearish and I think prices will head sharply lower from these levels possibly hitting the $6 level where they were before the drought took place last year with excellent crops around the world and renewed moisture in the Great Plains in the last week with heavy snow and rains. Currency Futures--- The U.S dollar this week continued its grinding bear market hitting a fresh 1 year low against the Euro currency down for the 4th consecutive trading session trading far below its 20 and 100 day moving average continuing the trend downward and in my opinion I believe the U.S dollar is headed sharply lower in the coming months due to the fact of the constant printing of money from the Federal Reserve and the easy monetary policies of the Obama administration while the Japanese yen continues is unbelievable bearish trend hitting a new 2 ½ year low down 3 consecutive trading days on another 140 points this Friday afternoon at 10809 and as I’ve stated many times in previous blogs I believe the yen is going 105 -100 because the Japanese government is forcing their currency lower to try to spur exports and Continue reading "Weekly Futures Recap with Mike Seery"

Grain Futures--The grain market was sharply higher this week with soybeans leading the charge nearly $.60 higher trading above its 20 day moving average but still below its 100 day moving average which is at 14.96 which also serves as the next major resistance as weather concerns in South America as well as drought concerns persisting here in the United States Midwestern area propelling prices higher with corn futures for the March contract trading above its 20 day moving average but just an eyelash away from his 100 day moving average which is at 7.42 up over $.20 for the week hitting a 3 week high also continuing its bullish momentum on planting concerns here in the Midwest with certain parts are too dry with a lack of snow. Wheat futures continued their bullish momentum trading above their 20 day moving average but below their 100 day moving average which is at 8.55 a bushel up over $.40 this week at 7.95 nearly higher by $.12 as traders are now exiting short positions and possibly going long this market in case there are weather problems in Kansas which is the United States leading producer of wheat so prices could head back up to the $9 dollar level quickly if the drought persists. I have stated in many previous blogs I was bearish the grain market a couple of days ago and at this point I’m just advising to sit on the sideline and see if a trend really does develop and I would like to see a little better chart structure and prices hit at least 4 week high before I would look to possibly get long and I do believe you might see some consolidation of this latest move in the next week or two. TREND: HIGHER –CHART STRUCTURE: EXCELLENT Continue reading "Weekly Futures Recap with Mike Seery"
