Bernanke Blinks And Addiction Goes On

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Thursday, the 19th of September.

I have been saying for some time that the Fed is not going to do anything until January 2014, when there will be a change in the chairmanship. It goes back to that fundamental human trait of "wanting everyone to like me." I think Ben Bernanke wants to be seen as a benevolent Fed chairman when he retires in 2014. This is classic Washington politics, where the Fed chairman gives a very gracious speech saying that it's been a challenge and he enjoyed his time as chairman of the Fed, but he'll leave out the part where it's not his problem now.

Whoever becomes the next Fed chairperson will face monumental challenges trying to extricate the country out of this spending binge and gluttony of cheap money. I suspect that had the Fed known they would be no further forward in 2014 when they took this quantitative easing course four years ago, they would have chosen another course of action to stimulate the economy.

Here is a quick question for you, how many zeros are in $1 trillion? Continue reading "Bernanke Blinks And Addiction Goes On"

Strategic Elements Of Binary Options Trading

Successful Trading is a Skill You Can Learn

The famous Turtle Traders founder Richard Dennis made history not only through his record-breaking trading performance but also for transforming the lives of a handful of individuals like you and me in under two weeks. He believed that he could pass on his successful principles as a trader to a non-professional trader and that based on them following his principles to the letter they too can become just as successful. Contrary to his peers opinions he proceed to do just that and the rest is history. This is no different to the teacher student relationship or master builder and apprentice relationship. Modern educators are promoting this exact principle to accelerate and help transform people's performance. It makes sense that success is a skill which can be taught even to trading Binary Options. Sweet Music From Pandora Media

Let me begin by saying that I listen to Pandora (NYSE:P) streaming music from both my iPhone and iPad. I have created several music channels to listen to my favorite music which can be pretty eclectic, ranging from the Beatles to Chinese folk music. I use the free version of Pandora, and am constantly amazed at the breadth of their music repertoire.

Did you see my latest video on Pandora?

Last Monday, I featured Pandora (NYSE:P) in my mid-day video report. I warned against letting the market fool you with the three quiet days it was experiencing. I also said that I was still bullish and expected the market to go higher.

Has the economy strengthened enough to withstand the pullback?

Hiring is soft, pay is barely up, consumers are cautious and economic growth has yet to pick up. And yet today, the Federal Reserve is expected to take its first step towards reducing the extraordinary stimulus it has supplied to help the U.S. economy rebound from its deepest crisis since the Great Depression. That begs the question....

Gold: "Taper This"

The media love to get a hold of buzz words and then give them a spin and a life all their own.  Recent examples were the mainstream media's presentation of 'Operation Twist' – which was simply an official yield curve manipulation designed to sanitize and dampen inflationary signals – as an inflationary operation, and the 'Fiscal Cliff' drama that sent herds of conventional investors to the sidelines* when they should have been contrarian (and bullish) back in Q4, 2012.

Now we have the media on the job tending the 'Taper' herd.  Among the many hyped up implications of 'Taper' according to the media are that it is bearish for gold.  But I would put forth not only a rejection of that assertion but just maybe a call for the opposite; a bullish stance on gold in the face of a Fed being coerced by natural movements in the Treasury bond market to talk 'taper'.

As part of its QE operation, the Fed buys long-term Treasury bonds with newly printed money.  It does so to try to keep interest rates down so that the economic recovery they have promoted does not fold in on itself, wheeze, roll over and die.  They also buy distressed MBS, but this is a story about Treasury bonds.
