Today's Video Update: Is Dennis Rodman Our Official Ambassador To North Korea? Maybe The White House Should Ask Him To Go To Syria; Crazier Things Have Been Known To Happen and It's Only Tuesday!

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Monday, the 3rd of September.

Well, here we are in a brand new trading month and there is a lot going on. I think front and center we have to be concerned about Syria and what's going to happen. Speaker Boehner came out today and said he will support President Obama's action of limited engagement with Syria.

This attitude goes against three quarters of the American people who do not want to see any kind of intervention. Every poll I have seen indicates that most Americans do not want to be involved in Syria in anyway. Continue reading "Today's Video Update: Is Dennis Rodman Our Official Ambassador To North Korea? "Reverse the forces that have conspired for decades against working Americans" Imagine who said those words?

For some reason, I received an email this past Labor Day from the White House. I am not sure how theWhite House acquired my email address but, I guess I could ask the NSA. I was not alone as I'm sure this same email went out to millions of other Americans.whitehouse 2 email

I decided to join in the fun and watch the video. As I expected, there were a lot of warm and fuzzy words and images of workers in factories. What came next, after 1 minute and 26 seconds really shocked me, the President of the United States said these words...

"reverse the forces that have conspired for decades against working Americans".

You can view the video here or click on the White House email image.

Who the heck was President Obama referring to when he used those exact words, "reverse the forces that have conspired for decades against working Americans"?

These words really bothered me; I could not believe what I was hearing. A Conspiracy? Did I miss something? Do you mean that all companies have been conspiring against their workers for decades Mr. President? If not companies, then who is conspiring against American workers? American workers made this country great, and for the most part they are well paid and respected.

It's hard to believe that summer is unofficially over and how an historic swim by a persistent 64 year old lifted my spirits.

It's hard to believe that summer is unofficially over and how an historic swim by a persistent 64 year old lifted my spirits.

I flew up to my summer home in Maine to enjoy the end of summer and spend a few days relaxing and thinking about everything that's going on. Sometimes it helps to get away and look at things from a different perspective; that's what I'm doing right now.

That's why I feel I have to share my feeling that so much is not right with the world today. Everywhere I turn, it seems that we have so many potentially conflicting problems, none of which can be easily solved and certainly not without pain. Today's Video Update: Syria, The End of Summer and What's Ahead

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Friday, the 30th of August.

The U.K. Nixes Their Involvement In Syria, Should The U.S. Go It Alone?
When the vote was tallied last night in the British Parliament, the U.K. effectively dropped out of supplying any military support in Syria. This vote put the Obama administration in a very difficult spot, should the U.S. go it alone or backdown and lose face? Well, according to our poll, almost 77% of our readers voted that the U.S. should not get involved in Syria. So does the administration go against the will of the people? Only time will tell.

At the moment the world has backed Pres. Obama into a corner, if he doesn't do anything the U.S. is going to look weak and if he lob's in a few cruise missiles he is going to look pathetic at best. There is no win-win solution in either scenario. Continue reading "Today's Video Update: Syria, The End of Summer and What's Ahead"

Nasdaq takes some blame for 3-hour breakdown

A three-hour trading outage on the Nasdaq last week was partly the result of issues within the company's control, the Nasdaq OMX Group said Thursday.

In a statement, the company detailed some of its early findings from an internal review. The Nasdaq blamed "a confluence of unprecedented events" that overwhelmed the exchange's system for handling price information. It said the catalyst was a torrent of messages from a trading platform run by the New York Stock Exchange, Arca.

"NASDAQ OMX is deeply disappointed in the events of August 22," the statement said, "and our performance is unacceptable to our members, issuers and the investing public."

The outage cracked the midday calm of a quiet summer day on Wall Street, sending brokers and traders scrambling to figure out what went wrong. Suspicion immediately fell on high-speed trading. Continue reading "Nasdaq takes some blame for 3-hour breakdown"
