It's Time To Get Your Yahoo On

It has been some time since I did a review of Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO). I'm doing one today because a new monthly Trade Triangle kicked in at $37.16 and could be indicating the end of the 4 1/2 month stalemate in this stock.

Now, I'm not saying that this stock is going to skyrocket to the moon, but I do believe that the bulls have the upper hand and this stock will move higher in the weeks ahead.

It seems like Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) has been around forever, but it was first founded by Jerry Yang and David Filo in 1994. There have been quite a few changes to the company since that time. Marissa Mayer, previously from Google, was named president and CEO of Yahoo effective on July 17, 2012.

Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) operates as a technology company worldwide. The company offers search products, including Yahoo Search, that serves as a starting point to navigate the Internet and discover information; and Yahoo Answers, which enables users to seek, discover, and share knowledge and opinions across mobile phones, tablets, and desktop. Is Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) Streaming To Go Higher?

Today, I'll be taking a in-depth look at the stock of Netflix Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX). The stock enjoyed a very nice move from May through July, but has since stalled out. After making a high in July, the stock has pulled back from the $472 level to where it is currently trading around the $427 level.

Netflix was founded by Reed Hastings, who had the brilliant idea of sending DVDs through the mail directly to your home. This was a disruptive idea at the time, which put many mom-and-pop video rental stores out of business. Now Netflix is expanding and streaming videos directly to your computer, bypassing the post office, which is even a better idea, in my opinion.

Netflix has to be the undisputed leader in entertainment/streaming video field, but now has lots of competition in the form of Hulu, Amazon, Apple and many others. My thoughts are that Netflix will continue to be the major player and continue to own the major portion of the video streaming business. Continue reading "Is Netflix Inc. The Truth About Amazon

When was the last time you bought something on Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN)? For me, I purchased a pair of cycling gloves last week. It seems that when Amazon reported a wider than expected loss, investors were surprised and shocked. What were they expecting?

The reality is that Amazon is a juggernaut in online commerce and is seeking world domination in selling you stuff. The strategy that Jeff Bezos is using for Amazon is not new, Sam Walton in the 60s did the exact same thing with Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (NYSE:WMT). Sam's idea was pretty simple, start with low prices so it puts your competitors out of business, then you can raise your prices afterwards. Amazon is doing the same thing, but online.

Just like Walmart, Amazon made it easy to buy something and return it if you don't like it, all with no hassles. Amazon is building something that is incredibly valuable - millions of consumers who want to buy products through them alone.

Just imagine, all Amazon has to do is raise prices just a little bit and they will be very profitable. Will consumers run the other way when this happens? No, as consumers we are so trained to buying at Amazon that a small price increase is not necessarily going to have buyers running.

Let's face it, we are all creatures of habit and I've gotten into the habit, like millions of other consumers, of just going to Amazon looking for an item and buying from them. Sure, if I searched around the web and spent a lot of time, I may save a dollar or two, but I would also be potentially doing business with companies I don't know. How reputable are they? Do I feel comfortable giving them my credit information and other private information? Continue reading "The Truth About Amazon"

Are You Buying This Pullback In Stocks?

After hitting the magical 17,000 level just around the time America was celebrating our country's 238th birthday, stocks and indexes have seen a pullback on quiet volume. The question is, are you seeing this as a buying opportunity?

In today's video, I will be looking at the major markets, a couple of stocks, and gold (FOREX:XAUUSDO), which I still believe is going to move higher. I will also be examining what's going on in crude oil and the Dollar.

If you missed my post yesterday on our two winning portfolios, you may want to check it out.

As always, we welcome your feedback on this video or any markets that you are following.

Proceed With Caution

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of INO.com and co-creator of MarketClub, with your video update for Friday, the 25th of April.

There's no question about it, these markets are in turmoil not knowing what to do. On one hand, the NASDAQ is showing a negative trend based on Trade Triangle technology, and the DOW and the S&P 500 are indicating a sideways trend at best.

Today I'm going to be looking at key areas to watch for in these markets and what to do if and when these levels are broken.

I still believe that the deal breaker in this whole equation is going to be what's happening in the Ukraine. With Putin flexing his muscles on the global stage and no one willing to stand up to him, he knows that he is going to win the game he is playing. Just yesterday, he indicated that sanctions mean nothing to him. That is the only weapon the west has or is willing to use against Russian domination of Europe. Like it or not, Putin’s aggression is going to cast a pall over all of Europe and a slowdown in business and the nascent recovery that was beginning to take place there.
