Elliott Wave Insights, Part IV
The End of a Six Thousand Year Elliott Wave Cycle

It has been several years since Elliott Wave Insights, Part III was published. With the major markets near the cusp of a directional change, the present is a very appropriate time to take several steps back and consider the overall picture of the wave pattern. A bird's eye view of Elliott Waves from the beginning of human history may give us insights as to what lies ahead.

MarketClub Webinar “Beta" Test

A common question asked by new MarketClub members is, “where do I start?” While we’re always happy to answer that question for anyone who calls or emails, we knew there had to be a better way to reach members on a larger scale. That being said, we’re excited to announce the start of weekly “Introduction to MarketClub” webinars for MarketClub customers.

During these weekly webinars we will cover: an overview of the program, our “Trade Triangle” trading strategy, and frequently asked questions as well as user submitted questions.  For those who are not able to be present during the live webinar, we will post recorded versions of the webinar on our site.

If you’re not familiar with the term, a webinar is a web-based seminar which allows attendees to dial into a conference call and also view the presenter’s screen from any computer. You only need to download a quick applet to join in.

Our first webinar will be this Friday, November 13th at 4pm EST hosted by our resident MarketClub expert, Jeremy Lutz.  To help us work out all of the bugs, we are extending an open invitation to a small group of current MarketClub members for “beta” testing on a first-come, first-serve basis.

If you’d like to attend, just email us at

Our self-esteem, or self-worth, is often based on our failures and successes in life. I challenge each of you to generate an honest appraisal of yourself before making a commitment to take back full responsibility of your financial affairs.

Some people have faced a few key failures in life and have never recovered, while it seems that people with high self-esteem take pride in how they have faced adversity and lived through adversity.

How did you fare in 2008 both financially and personally?

How have you faced adversity in 2009 both financially and personally?

Good Luck Stevenson High School's Economics Club

About a month ago we received a passionate email from an economics teacher at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois. He informed us that he had created an economics club at his school to increase financial literacy and show students how technical analysis can interface with their financial future. His club also participates in "The Stock Market Game" (a program of the SIFMA) to compete with other schools, both locally and nationally. After a request to have a discounted MarketClub subscription rate for his students, we decided that MarketClub would go ahead and sponsor his 6 student groups and provide free memberships.

We were even more excited after researching this high school's impressive reputation in the academic community. This 'Blue Ribbon' school (as awarded by the US Department of Education), has been listed for the last three years in Newsweek, US News and World Report's list of America's best public high schools. This school boosts a 96.3% graduation rate, with 98% of those graduated students attending a 2 or 4 year college. How could you not have have great students, when you have teachers that reach out for the greater benefit of their students?

We would like to wish the 6 groups of Stevenson's economic club the best of luck as they participate in the stock game. We know that with the support of their teacher and with the added analytical tools of MarketClub, they will do great. We'll keep our Trader's Blog community abreast of this economic team's accomplishments.

Thanks for reaching out to us,

The MarketClub Team

Can History Predict the Future?

Cycles, rhythms, patterns, and seasons...no matter what you call them they are there in the markets. One market in particular is the Nasdaq and today I've invited Steve Hoven from NasdaqProfits.com to give us his insight into the patterns of the Nasdaq. If you have any other patterns you'd like to share please do so in the comment section and be sure and visit NasdaqProfits.com to check in on what he does!

The Nasdaq Index is over 30+ years old.

Yet did you know that over those 30+ years on the date July 9th, the Nasdaq finishes the day UP over 85% of the time.  That is right- since the early 1970's when the Nasdaq began, it has been open 27 times on date July 9th and out of those 27 times, the Nasdaq has finished in the Positive 23 times and DOWN only 4 times.
(of course July 9th sometimes falls on a Saturday/Sunday when the markets aren't open so that is why you only see 27 trades instead of 30+)
