Today's Video Update: Apple's Big Day And Waze To Go Google

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Monday, the 10th of June.

Apple's Big Day
Today, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) kicks off its developers conference in San Francisco. This is the day that the Apple-faithful have been patiently waiting for. It is widely speculated that Apple will announce IOS 7, a new operating system, and perhaps some other upgrades. No new disruptive technologies are expected to be announced at this conference, but with Apple you never know. One of the presenters today is Sir Jonathan Paul "Jony" Ive, who is the genius designer for many of Apple's most recent products. In my opinion, Jony was the main creative force behind Steve Jobs. The new operating system is rumored to be cleaner, simpler and “flatter”, moving away from the skeuomorphic design. Apple is also expected to announce a new music service that's going to go head-to-head with the likes of Pandora, Spotify, and other online streaming music platforms. Let's put everything in perspective, Apple has 500 million users, Pandora has less than 70 million. Mathematically, this gives Apple a huge advantage in terms of creating a really successful, new income-producing music service. Initially iRadio, as the name is rumored to be, will be supported by ads, and eventually it will end up becoming a recurring revenue product. I will be covering Apple in today's daily update. Today's Video Update: The Beat Goes On

Hello traders everywhere! Adam Hewison here, President of and Co-creator of MarketClub, with your mid-day market update for Wednesday, the 15th of May.

Google Music?
Word on the street is that Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) is set to announce today a new streaming music service, one that will compete against Pandora and Spotify. Once again, it seems as though Google wants to be everything to everybody, and whether Google can compete in the music business and be successful remains to be seen. Should you buy or sell Google? If you haven't watched my Google trading video on how to trade Google successfully, you can watch it here.

The Beat Goes On
Stock prices hit a high yesterday as more and more disenfranchised short sellers are covering their shorts and exiting this market. So far, this market has not yielded to any downside pressure or correction to the surprise of many professional traders. What I do know, is that trends tend to persist longer than expected, and that they don't ring a bell at the top of any market. In a recent blog poll, we asked readers what they thought of the market: Continue reading "Today's Video Update: The Beat Goes On"

Nine months without a losing trade...

In today's short educational trading video, I'm going to show you how it was possible to trade for nine months straight without a losing trade.

I will also share with you a step-by-step approach to every single trade. Don't worry, there are not thousands, or even hundreds of trades to follow! In fact, there are less than a handful to track.

The video will show you how we entered every trade and how the trade was exited. You'll have a front row seat to watch how this was possible for nine months straight, trading without a loss in one of the largest, most liquid stocks in the world.

The initial feedback we received in a recent sneak preview has been extremely positive, and in several cases it was described as an "eye opener" for many of these viewers. The video runs about 4 1/2 minutes.

I personally believe this video will give you insight into how the markets really work. After you watch the video, you can make up your own mind whether this approach would be useful for your own trading or not.

POLL: LinkedIn...Could-a, Would-a, Should-a?

Wait a it 2011 or 1999? LinkedIn's (LNKD) IPO was originally priced at $45. However, it opened at $83 yesterday morning and was at $90 in no time (where it remained for most of the morning). It sky rocketed to $120 later on, and then dipped to a closing of nearly $95!

At $90 per share, LinkedIn would be valued at $8.5 of the largest tech IPOs since Google (GOOG) in 2004. If you were to factor those numbers in for your calculations, LinkedIn is trading at nearly 570 times last year's earnings! This adds some controversy over the worthiness of its current price tag considering that LinkedIn valued itself at a mere $2.32 a share in the spring of 2009.

Which brings us to the question:

Do you think that LinkedIn is worth it's hype?
