Comparison of Dollar Counterparts

In the above monthly comparison chart, I put in all of the main Dollar rivals and the Dollar index itself, which is shown inverse (100 was divided into DXY). As we can clearly see, all instruments fell dramatically last summer and didn't stop in the autumn of 2014. The black rectangle shows the area where Gold started decoupling with the rest of the Dollar counterparts. It was last September when Gold stopped falling. EURUSD is the most precise copy of the Dollar Index. Crude oil had slightly different behavior last month with less downside momentum. Therefore, all trade setups for more than half a year couldn't be accurate if they were based on pure Dollar dynamics. Gold stalled in the past waiting for a clear and powerful signal to break out of current the sideways action. The main question is, Continue reading "Gold And Silver Monthly: Monumental"

Half Marathon Follow Up - INO Cares March 2015

In March, we told you about my sister, Casey Thompson (now Casey Berry as she got married last month), who was running in the Frederick Half Marathon to raise money for The National Multiple Sclerosis Society. INO.com was proud to contribute to Casey’s fundraising.

For Casey, raising money for The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, is so incredibly important because she suffers from MS herself.

On Sunday, May 3rd, Casey powered through the Fredrick 1/2 Marathon despite her physical challenges! Casey ran the race with her husband, Jim and Amy Maher (wife of INO.com co-owner, David Maher). The three of them pushed each other through the race on one of the nicest spring mornings thus far and finished in a very respectable 2 hours and 20 minutes!

They were cheered at the finished line by some members of the INO.com family.

I am so proud of Casey, Jim & Amy! With every step and every dollar of her fundraising efforts, Casey is that much closer to finding a solution to a high-quality life with MS.

There Is Not Much Difference Between The Fed And Greece

Hello everyone and happy Cinco de Mayo.

Let's start with Greece. It is an ongoing disaster that nobody wants to face, especially the bankers who may have to take a 50% haircut on their loans, that's if they're lucky. I think it was Citibank's former chairman, Walter Wriston, that said, "Countries don't go bankrupt." Welcome to the real world Walter. Greece is going to default or there is going to be a revolution in the country.

That leads us to the Federal Reserve. I'm not sure they fully understand and know what they're doing. I think this grand experiment of quantitative easing has gotten way out of hand. In hindsight, it looks like the Fed got the country into something that we didn't have a plan to get out of. The answer to this conundrum was always down the line and some time in the future. The Fed has had over six years to figure this out and there is still no plan to get out of it. "More data" is another way for the Fed to say, "we don’t know!" Ben Bernanke is gone and now has a new job with a hedge fund and Janet Yellen, the new Fed chairwoman, is another disciple from the same school of thought that Ben came from. So, what do you think? Do you think the Fed has any idea what it's doing? Continue reading "There Is Not Much Difference Between The Fed And Greece"

Time To Buy These 5 Buy Stocks?

Hello MarketClub members and traders everywhere! As you start a new week, it is important to look at what happened last week in the markets.

There's no doubt that last week was tough week for most traders with Apple sliding almost 4% which was enough to drag practically every other market down. But what interested me was the market action on Friday. Last Friday we saw a recovery in the market and when one looks at the RSI indicator, all the major indices closed over the 50 line. In fact, all of the Trade Triangles on both the indices and Apple remain positive in both the intermediate and long-term trends.

I would not be surprised to see the market chop around these areas for a while, but I would rather be a buyer here, than a seller.

Here are some of the stocks I think are worthy of your attention: Continue reading "Time To Buy These 5 Buy Stocks?"

Where To Find Profits Amid Global Currency Chaos

By: Dave Forest of Street Authority

I make a ton of currency swaps in my line of work. It goes with the territory. But lately it's been a harrowing experience.

Many currencies around the world have been a mess for the last few months. The value of the British pound, for example, has dropped 13% against the dollar since July 2014.

At the same time, the Canadian dollar has plummeted 15% against its American counterpart. And the Colombian peso -- another currency I'm frequently buying -- is down an astounding 28% over the same period.

I'll admit it's been quite a hassle lately. I almost ran out of pesos in the Colombian countryside recently because of it. But what has me really worried is how these "currency wars" are starting to effect businesses and stocks valuations around the world.

Let me show you what I mean. Continue reading "Where To Find Profits Amid Global Currency Chaos"
