Weekly Futures Recap With Mike Seery

Gold Futures

Gold prices settled last Friday in New York at 1,271 an ounce while currently trading at 1,256 down about $15 for the trading week and topping out at the 1,300 level. The Federal Reserve announced that they raised interest rates a .25 point and plan on raising interest rates further down the road and this sent gold prices to a three-week low. I am not involved in any of the precious metals as they have been incredibly choppy in 2017 and the monetary risk and the risk/reward has not met my criteria as prices are now trading below their 20 and 100-day moving average. I'm advising clients to avoid this sector and gold at the present time. The commodity markets, in general, remain weak in my opinion except for a select few with the stock market continuing to move higher taking money flows out of the gold and moving them into the Dow Jones once again. I think that trend will continue despite the terrorist attacks happening on a weekly basis coupled with uncertainty worldwide. Prices seem to have one more leg lower to the downside with a possible retest of 1,215 in my opinion. Silver prices this week also went into the negative as those prices remain extremely choppy as well, but one day the trends will come back in the metals so keep a close eye on this market & wait for the chart structure to improve.
TREND: MIXED - LOWER
CHART STRUCTURE: POOR

Another Big Cyber-Security Hack, When Should You Buy The HACK ETF

Matt Thalman - INO.com Contributor - ETFs

The world of Exchange Traded Funds is massive and growing every day. Whether it’s a simple index fund to a specialty fund that focuses on a very niche industry, you can most likely find an ETF that is right for you. I often tout the S&P 500 index funds for their low cost and how easy they are for a non-financial savvy investor to get into the market and start investing.

But, for those who have a solid understanding of the markets, the risks, and enjoy finding new investments, I love highlighting the niche ETF's I find. One of my favorite specialty ETF's is the PureFunds ISE Cyber Security ETF (HACK). HACK tracks an equal-weighted index of companies that are actively involved in the cyber security industry.

With the recent global hack that locked users out of their computers and demanded a ransom be paid, the HACK ETF received little attention, while the companies it owns received a lot. That attack once again highlighted the importance of cyber-security and how cyber-attacks are here to stay and will only likely become more prevalent with time. Amazon Makes A Bold Move

Hello MarketClub members everywhere. I expected the market to react in a positive light when it was announced that Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) would buy Whole Foods Market Inc. (NASDAQ:WFM) for 13.6 Billion dollars. However, that was not the case.

The likes of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE:WMT), The Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR), Sprouts Farmers Market Inc. (NASDAQ:SFM), and so on are down significantly on the day. Which of course is putting pressure on the overall market. What do you think about the announcement?

MarketClub's Mid-day Market Report

Crude Oil is up on the day, but it's still 2.5% lower for the week. That would be its longest run of weekly losses since August of 2015. This comes as OPEC member Libya restored production and the surplus in the U.S. shows little sign of abating.

A 2nd Cannabis Stock With $1 Billion Drug Potential

Analysis originally distributed on June 7, 2017 By: Michael Vodicka of Cannabis Stock Trades

Blockbuster drugs are the holy grail of the pharmaceutical and biotech industry.

When annual sales of a new drug break the $1 billion mark, investors are usually rewarded with big gains.

This is what began happening late 2012 with Gilead Science (NASDAQ:GILD).

In 2013 the FDA approved Gilead's hepatitis C drug Sovaldi.

Then, in 2014, Gilead scored an FDA approval for another Hep C drug, Harvoni.

Both drugs went on to quickly hit blockbuster status - sending shares of Gilead soaring - jumping more than 200% in the next two years. Take a look below.

Today, the young cannabis industry is in hot pursuit of its first ever cannabis blockbuster - and I expect the winner of this race to deliver huge gains to shareholders. Continue reading "A 2nd Cannabis Stock With $1 Billion Drug Potential"

Stock Analysis From A To Z: Starting With The Letter "A"

Aibek Burabayev - INO.com Contributor - Metals

Earlier in the year, I had asked you to post things that you would be interested in me analyzing, and to my amazement, many of you asked for stocks. While that is outside my normal scope of the markets, I believe that my technical analysis could prove beneficial. So, with that in mind, I will start to share some technical analysis of U.S. stocks.

To keep it interesting, I plan on cycling through the stock market in alphabetical order using the criteria below.

Of course, I will continue to analyze the precious metals market, and that will still be my primary focus. Continue reading "Stock Analysis From A To Z: Starting With The Letter "A""
