Platinum Could Restore Its Supremacy Soon

Aibek Burabayev - INO.com Contributor - Metals - Platinum

Last October I focused on the rare case when the price of palladium, for the first time in many years, could surpass the usually dominant platinum price. Both, common sense and chart analysis of the palladium price suggested that the triumph of this metal could be temporary. In the charts below, we can see if this conclusion turned out to be right.

Chart 1. Platinum/Palladium Ratio Monthly: Half-Half

This time I would like to start with the chart of the relative strength of the two metals which is clearly traceable through the platinum/palladium ratio. This ratio is falling sharply from the 2009 high at the 6.09 oz showing the dramatic weakness of platinum compared to palladium. In the chart above, I only show you the period when the drop started to decelerate, and the trend turned flat. Continue reading "Platinum Could Restore Its Supremacy Soon"

My Plan For Another 30% Gain In 5 Days

Analysis originally distributed on March 7, 2018 By: Michael Vodicka of Cannabis Stock Trades

The Canadian cannabis sector scored another blockbuster win last week - and it led to a quick 30% gain for one of Canada's most promising young cannabis companies. If you missed the recent pop higher don't worry - I see this same pattern repeating itself at least a few more times in the next three months. Here's what is going on.

Cronos Group (CRON) is one of Canada's largest and most promising cannabis companies. Shares began trading on the Toronto Venture Stock Exchange in December of 2014. Since then, Cronos has delivered huge gains to shareholders, jumping more than 1400% from its IPO price of $.80.

That impressive performance helped Cronos make history last week when it became the first ever Canadian cannabis producer to trade on the US-based NASDAQ stock exchange. Continue reading "My Plan For Another 30% Gain In 5 Days"

Don't Miss Another EUR/USD Rally

Aibek Burabayev - INO.com Contributor - Metals - EUR/USD

I spotted a promising trading opportunity in the Foreign Exchange market, and I would like to share it with you today as the setup is ready.

Before that, I would like to give you some insight about the global map for the pair of the single currency against the king currency (EUR/USD) to let you know where other opportunities could emerge as time goes by.

Chart 1. EUR/USD Monthly: Make It Or Break It

On the chart above, we can see the magic power of trends highlighted in blue for the upmove and in red for the current long-lasting correction. The former already took 115 months to unfold exceeding the period of the preceding upmove (93 months) significantly. This is what we always should bear in mind about the nature of corrections – they last longer than the moves they retrace. Continue reading "Don't Miss Another EUR/USD Rally"

Be Careful What You Wish For

George Yacik - INO.com Contributor - Fed & Interest Rates -
 Glass-Steagall

When doing some background research for this column, I came across this article in the May 12, 2017, edition of the Los Angeles Times: “Something Trump and Elizabeth Warren Agree On: Bringing Back Glass-Steagall to Break Up Big Banks.”

Whatever happened to that idea?

As kookie and wrong-headed on other issues as Senator “Pocahontas” often is, she’s at least been pretty consistent when it comes to her view of the banking industry (she doesn’t like it). And according to the article, she wasn’t alone in wanting to “break up the biggest U.S. banks.” Guess who else was on that list? None other than departing White House chief economic advisor Gary Cohn.

Trump himself said, “We’re looking at it right now as we speak,” referring to “going back to the old system” under the Glass-Steagall Act in which commercial and investment banking were separated. Continue reading "Be Careful What You Wish For"

Immunotherapy ETF Heats Up

Noah Kiedrowski - INO.com Contributor - Biotech - Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy Heats Up

The Immunotherapy space has ushered in a new class of therapies to combat a variety of diseases, most notably cancer. Immunotherapy has been emerging from the backdrop of oncology research for years most notably from smaller companies such as Dendreon, Kite Pharma and Juno Therapeutics as leaders in the space. Dendreon was first-to-market with its activated cellular therapy, Provenge® in 2010 followed by a 7-year gap until Novartis’ Kymriah® was approved in August of 2017 which was shortly followed up by the approval of Kite Pharma’s Yescata® in November of 2017.

Now, immunotherapy is at the forefront in oncology as a leading therapeutic which has been shown to cure cancer in previously untreatable patients. Immunotherapy ushers in a new class of promising therapies by harnessing the body’s immune system to recognize and eradicate debilitating diseases, specifically cancer. Immunotherapy has been shown to have a favorable side effect profile and best-in-class efficacy across many different disease states. These therapies may provide a powerful technology to contend with a host of diseases, and in a future state, may potentially serve as a preventative technology similar to a traditional vaccine. Immunotherapy has evolved into many different classifications with differing modalities over the past several years, which has given rise to a growing number mid and small-cap biotechnology companies. In late 2015, The Loncar Cancer Immunotherapy ETF (NASDAQ:CNCR) and provides investors with an opportunity to invest in this unique cohort.

Immunotherapy – The Science

Generally speaking, cancer is immuno-tolerant, meaning these cancerous cells evade the surveillance mechanisms of the immune system and thus persist, proliferate and manifest disease within the host. The immune system cannot distinguish cancerous cells from normal host cells thus giving rise to malignancy and metastasis. Continue reading "Immunotherapy ETF Heats Up"
