Global Unease Pushes Gold Higher

This morning the gold market is pushing higher and it is within $18 of making a new high for the year. I'm sure this is not because of all the gold that has been won by the U.S. team in Rio, but rather to a global uneasiness hat has permeated the year so far.

MarketClub's Mid-day Market Report

In today's video, I will be analyzing gold (FOREX:XAUUSDO) and the gold mining stocks that I have discussed before. The stocks are Newmont Mining (NYSE:NEM) and Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:ABX). Both of these stocks are set to go significantly higher based on the Trade Triangles and their technical chart counts.

I will also be analyzing crude oil (NYMEX:CL.U16.E) and showing you a key level that I see that could pop crude up several dollars in a short period.

After their big push up last Friday, the equity markets have come to a somewhat stationary position. However, that has not altered the longer-term trend that I see in the indices which are currently in an uptrend. I will be examining each of these indexes individually and giving you my latest thoughts on the trends in each of these markets. Continue reading "Global Unease Pushes Gold Higher"

Natural gas futures prices rose by 2.0% last week (ending August 2nd to correspond to the data below) then dropped back to close the week 10 cents lower at $2.77.

NYMEX Nat Gas Futures Nearby Month

Prices rose in advance of the Energy Information Administration’s (EIA) Thursday storage report in anticipation of a draw in inventory, which was confirmed in the data release. As a result, the year-over-year storage glut was cut to 13.4%. Continue reading "Natural Gas Producers Pressuring Futures Prices Lower"

The DOW Heads For 20,000

Hello MarketClub members, well here we are at the beginning of a new trading week with lots going on. Somehow I don’t think we are going to be seeing the dog days of summer in 2016. Last Friday the major indices resumed their upward journey and the continuation pattern I discussed in my previous video. I continue to think that the equity markets can go higher, a lot higher based on the Trade Triangles and the technical formation on the charts.

MarketClub's Mid-day Market Report

I can see the DOW (INDEX:DJI) moving over the 20,000 mark in the next several months. The markets could get another boost today as one of the presidential hopefuls is going to propose the biggest tax cuts we have ever seen in modern times. Continue reading "The DOW Heads For 20,000"

Gold Is At The Crossroads! Which Stock Is The Most Vulnerable?

Aibek Burabayev - INO.com Contributor - Metals

Back in March in my major gold update I warned you that what was being billed as a New Bull Run could easily turn out to be a complex correction. In that post’s chart, I didn’t put the small Fibonacci retracement level at 38.2% as I was impressed with the strong move to the upside from the bottom and I thought it would be useless. These days the situation has changed and I put an updated chart below.

Chart 1. Gold Monthly: First Serious Resistance

Gold Monthly Chart W/Fibonacci
Chart courtesy of tradingview.com

Last month the gold stalled at the red trendline resistance as the price closed 25 dollars below the month’s maximum. This month the price action will be crucial as there is no room to step back. It would be hard work to crack double resistance within the $1360-1381 range, which consists of the red trendline and the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level. Crude Oil Futures

Crude oil futures in the September contract settled last Friday in New York at 41.60 a barrel while currently trading at 41.10 basically unchanged for the trading week as I’ve been sitting on the sidelines in this market for quite some time as prices are right near a 4 month low. Prices have dropped about $10 over the last 2 months as massive supplies continue to hamper prices as I still think a bottom has not been created and if you are short this market my stop loss would be above the 10 day high which stands at 43.39 as prices are still trading below its 20 and 100-day moving average telling you that the short-term trend is lower. At present I have very few trade recommendations as I took the month of July off, but I am keeping a close eye on many different sectors as I think we will be involved in many trades very soon. The trend is lower and as the commodity trader I always believe that must be a trend follower as trading with path of least resistance is the most successful way to trade over the course of time.
